Hungarian Sta-Soft Chocolate Icing

In memory of Ginny Falcsik and in honor of Dennis Falcsik


  • 1 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 3 ½ Tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup canned evaporated milk
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 tsp oleo (butter or margarine)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Combine dry ingredients (sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, salt) in saucepan.    Add milk and water slowly and cook over medium heat, stirring, until thick and smooth.   Remove from heat; add butter or margarine and vanilla.  Let icing cool slightly before frosting a cooled 9 x 13 inch cake.
