Dark Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 3 large eggs
- 1 – ¼ cups flour
- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Sifted powdered sugar for top
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350o
In medium saucepan, melt butter with unsweetened chocolate over low heat, whisking occasionally until smooth and melted. Sprinkle in the cocoa powder and whisk to combine. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes
Stir in sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs, one at a time and stir.
Gently stir in the flour until halfway incorporated. Add chocolate chips and stir until combined.
Pour batter (very thick!) into greased 8 x 8 pan.
Bake for 40 minutes, then check with a toothpick. If overly gooey, return to oven for 5 or 10 more minutes.
Allow to cool completely (important), then sprinkle with powdered sugar on top and cut into SMALL squares. They are VERY RICH!
