Fresh Peach Crumble

Fresh Peach Crumble is one of my family’s very favorite desserts! I’ve even been known to eat leftovers for breakfast (peaches with a little oatmeal on top sounds like health food to me!).

I am excited to share this recipe with you as part of The Longest Day fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. Please consider making a donation to help support research to find a cure!

Fresh Peach Crumble

  • 11-12 ripe peaches
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1/3 cup chopped almonds

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Peel peaches by dropping them into a pot of boiling water; let boil for a minute, then carefully remove and let cool. (you may need to blanch the peaches in batches). When cool enough to work with, peel off skins. Pit and cut peaches into wedges.

Combine peaches with lemon juice, 2 Tbsp flour, and 1/4 cup sugar. Place in an 8×8 square baking dish or 9 inch pie pan.

Combine dry topping ingredients (flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and salt). Slowly stir in oil and water until mixture gets thick and clumpy. Stir in almonds.

Sprinkle topping over peach mixture. Place pan on a foil-lined cookie sheet (in case it bubbles over!) and bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly around the edges. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
